Babette Reis was the daughter of Maurice / Moritz and Chayla Jonas (Bondi) Reis and the sister of Jonas Reis. She was born on 9th June, 1823 in Mainz and she died on 27th October, 1897 in Mainz. On 28th December, 1853 in Mainz, she became the 2nd wife of the merchant Victor Simon (17th June, 1818 in Mainz, + 10th December, 1902 in Mainz aged 84.) Victor’s parents are said to have been Johann Simon and Babette Koch.
Victor and Babette had three children:
- Theodor Simon born 8 November 1854 and died 13 June 1937. Married Elisabeth Derscheidt
- Laura Simon who married Feist
- Moritz Arnold Simon born 2nd October 1860 died 18 August 1908
